Okay, folks, let me tell you about my latest project. I’ve been wanting to remake a classic PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag. You know, the one that’s been making a comeback? Yeah, that one. It’s such a timeless piece, and I thought, “Why not try making one myself?” It is the original order, everything needs to be perfect.

So, I started by doing some serious digging. I mean, I dove deep into the internet, looking at tons of pictures of the original bag. I needed to get a real good feel for the shape, the size, everything. This bag is based on their old mini hobo design, so I really had to study those vintage vibes.

Once I had a decent idea of what I was working with, I started gathering materials. Now, since this is a PRADA bag, I need to find some really good leather. And the hardware, oh boy, the hardware had to be just right. I went to a few different suppliers, comparing the texture and the feel of the leather, make sure the clasps, the zippers, the whole nine yards, matched the original as close as possible. It took some time, but I found the right one.

  • First, I made a pattern. This was tricky because I wanted it to be as close to the original as possible. I used some old craft paper and started sketching out the different pieces. There were a few missteps, I’m not gonna lie, but eventually, I got it down.
  • Next, I cut out the leather. This was the most nerve-wracking part. One wrong cut, and I’d have to start all over. I took my time, made sure my measurements were correct, and carefully cut out each piece.
  • Then came the sewing. This is where my trusty old sewing machine came in handy. I carefully stitched the pieces together, making sure the seams were straight and strong. It was a slow process, but seeing the bag take shape was so satisfying.
  • Finally, I attached the hardware. This was the finishing touch. I carefully attached the clasps, the zipper, and that iconic PRADA logo.

The Final Result

And there you have it, my very own handmade PRADA Re-Edition 2005 Bag! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty darn proud of it. It was a lot of work, but it was totally worth it. I learned so much during this process, and now I have a beautiful, unique bag that I can say I made myself. Plus, it’s got that classic PRADA look that will never go out of style. This bag will last a long time, I’m sure of it.

Would I do it again? Probably! It was a fun challenge. Maybe next time I’ll try a different color. Or maybe I’ll even attempt a different model. Who knows! The possibilities are endless. This is a really good bag, it is hard to believe this is made by myself.
