Alright, so I’ve been itching to get my hands dirty with a new project, and what better way than to remake a classic? I’m talking about the PRADA Cahier Bag, that beautiful, boxy thing with the buckle. It’s just so cool, you know? I thought, “Why not try making one myself?”
First things first, I needed to figure out what I was dealing with. I spent a good chunk of time just staring at pictures of the Cahier online, trying to understand its structure, I looked at all kinds of other bags they have as well. It’s got this trunk-like design, which is pretty unique. I made some sketches, took some notes, basically trying to get a feel for the bag.
Next up, materials. I went to a bunch of stores, they got all kinds of bags out there, feeling up different leathers, checking out buckles and straps. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit overwhelming. But I finally settled on this gorgeous brown leather that just felt right. It wasn’t cheap, but hey, you gotta splurge a little sometimes, right?
Then came the actual making part. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. I started by cutting out the leather pieces based on my sketches. Then, I had to punch holes for stitching, which was a pain. My fingers were sore for days! But I kept at it, stitching the pieces together, slowly but surely.
The buckle was a whole other story. I couldn’t find one that was exactly like the original, so I had to get creative. I ended up using a combination of different buckles and some metal pieces I found at a hardware store. It’s not perfect, but I think it adds a unique touch to the bag.
- Sketching the design
- Choosing the right leather
- Cutting and stitching the leather
- Creating a custom buckle
After weeks of work, I finally finished it. And you know what? It turned out pretty damn good! It’s not an exact replica, of course. It’s got its own flaws and imperfections, but that’s what makes it special. It’s my own take on the PRADA Cahier, and I’m proud of it.
My Remake PRADA Cahier Bag
So, would I recommend this to others? Maybe. If you’re looking for a fun and challenging project, and you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, then go for it. Just be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort. But hey, if you got the money and you want a brand-new Prada Cahier Bag, I’m not gonna stop you. It’s a nice bag. It’s definitely a conversation starter, and it feels good to know that I made it myself.
