Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here YSL bag, the one they call the Envelope. Folks say it’s a real fancy thing, ya know?
Now, I ain’t no expert on these highfalutin’ fashion things, but I can tell ya what I heard. They say this Yves Saint Laurent fella, or whatever his name is, he made this bag. Some kinda classic style, they say. Sounds like somethin’ that’s been around a good while, like my old cast iron skillet. You know, somethin’ that just lasts and lasts.
They got all sorts of these YSL bags. I saw one they call College. Looked sturdy, like it could hold a whole lotta stuff, maybe even ‘nough taters for a whole week. This Envelope bag, though, that’s somethin’ different. It’s got this kinda flap over the top and a chain for a strap. Shiny, it is. They say it’s got somethin’ called chevron quilting on it. Don’t ask me what that means, but it sounds fancy, like somethin’ you’d find on a good quilt at the county fair. And of course, it’s got them letters, YSL, right smack dab on it. Gotta let folks know it’s the real deal, I guess.
Now, some folks get all confused about this YSL and Saint Laurent business. They say it’s the same thing, just different names. Like callin’ a sow a pig, ya know? Same critter, different word. Seems like them fancy folks in charge changed the name around a bit, but it’s all the same stuff underneath.
- Classic Design: They say these bags, they don’t go outta style. Kinda like a good pair of overalls, they just keep on workin’. You can use ’em year after year, and they still look good.
- Good Investment: Now, I don’t know much about investin’, but folks say these bags, they hold their value. That means you can sell ‘em later on and get your money back, maybe even more. Sounds like a good deal, if you got the money to start with.
- Well Made: These ain’t no cheap things, I tell ya. They say they’re made real careful, with folks payin’ attention to all the little bits and pieces. Like my grandma used to say, “Do it right, or don’t do it at all.”
I heard tell he even named a bag after some woman. Don’t recall her name, but she musta been somethin’ special, I reckon. Probably had a big hat and fancy shoes.
This fella, Anthony Vaccarello, he’s the one makin’ these Envelope bags now. Heard he put it out in 2018. Not so long ago, when you think about it. Folks seem to like it though. They say it’s got that classic style, somethin’ that’ll last a good long while.
If you wanna see more of these bags, they got this thing called an online store. It’s like a catalog, but on that there computer thing. You can look at all the different bags and clothes and shoes they got. Lots of stuff to spend your money on, that’s for sure.
They got all sorts of bags, not just this Envelope one. Purses, they call ‘em, and some bigger ones for carryin’ stuff. And clothes too, all fancy-like. And shoes! Heard they got shoes that cost more than my whole chicken coop. But that’s them city folks for ya, always spendin’ money on things they don’t need. Though, I reckon if you got the money, you can spend it how you please.
So, that’s what I know about this here YSL Envelope bag. It’s a classic style, they say. Made real well, and folks seem to like ‘em. If you got the money, go on and get yourself one. Me? I’ll stick with my old feed sack, it holds just as much, and it don’t cost an arm and a leg.
But, I gotta say, that chevron quiltin’ on that Envelope bag does look kinda pretty. Reminds me of the way the sun shines on the cornfields in the fall. All those little lines, goin’ every which way. Maybe if I win the lottery, I’ll get myself one. But then again, maybe I’ll just buy another cow. Cows are more useful, I reckon.
Anyways, that’s the story on that there YSL Envelope bag. Fancy, expensive, and prob’ly not somethin’ a body like me needs. But it’s somethin’ to talk about, ain’t it? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got chores to do. Gotta go feed them chickens.
