Hey everyone, I’m back again with another project! This time I tried to make a Perfect Copy Fendi Zucca Nappa Tortuga Small Spy Tobacco Moro. It was a doozy, let me tell you!
First, I found a bunch of pictures online of the real bag. I mean, a TON. Front, back, sides, inside, you name it. I wanted to make sure I got every little detail right.
Next, I started looking for the materials. This was tough. Finding leather that looked and felt like the real Fendi Zucca was a real pain. I went to a couple of fabric stores and felt a bit lost honestly. The Zucca Nappa, man, it’s some fancy stuff.
- Searched for the right kind of leather. Lots of dead ends.
- Found some “okay” leather, but nothing perfect.
- Finally found something close enough after a ton of searching online. It was a bit pricey, but I went for it.
Then came the hardware. That little Fendi logo and all those fancy clasps and buckles… I tried to find exact replicas, but no luck. I ended up settling for some similar-looking pieces. Hopefully, nobody will notice. They were difficult to locate.
Once I had all the materials, the real work began. I drew up a pattern based on the pictures I found. This took forever! Getting the dimensions right and making sure everything lined up was tricky.
Cutting the leather was nerve-wracking. I was so scared of messing it up! Measure twice, cut once, right? Well, I probably measured like ten times each time. The color of the leather that I found was a dark Tobacco Moro, just like the original.
The sewing… oh boy, the sewing. My old sewing machine was NOT happy with me. It took me days to get everything stitched together. And let me tell you, my fingers were sore! I even broke a few needles along the way.
Slowly but surely, the bag started to take shape. It was actually starting to look like a Fendi Spy Bag! I was so excited, I could barely contain myself.
The Final Result
After all that work, I finished the bag! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty darn proud of it. It looks pretty close to the real thing, if I do say so myself. I mean, you’d have to be a real Fendi expert to spot the differences, I think.
Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a really fun challenge. Plus, now I have a “Fendi” bag without the crazy price tag!
