Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a really good Fendi Spy bag for a while now, you know, the black Nappa leather one. But those things are pricey, so I thought, “Why not try to make one myself?” And let me tell you, it was a journey.
First off, I needed to find the right leather. I hit up every store in town, and even went online, looking for that perfect black Nappa. It’s gotta be soft, you know, but also strong enough to hold its shape. Finally, I found this one place that had exactly what I needed. Score!
Finding the Materials
- Leather: This was the biggest challenge. I needed that specific black Nappa leather, and it wasn’t easy to find something that was just right.
- Hardware: Oh boy, the hardware. I wanted those little “FENDI” stamps and the “FF” logo. I looked everywhere! Finally, I found a few places where I could buy these details.
Then came the hardware. Now, this was tricky. I wanted those little Fendi logos, you know, the “FENDI” and the “FF.” I looked everywhere! Online, local shops, you name it. I found a store that had some pieces I could use.
Putting it all together was… well, it was something. I’m no expert, but I followed some guides I found online and just went for it. Stitching the leather, attaching the hardware, it was a lot of work. But seeing it come together, piece by piece, that was pretty cool.
The Stitching and Assembly
- Stitching: I’m not gonna lie, this was tough. I’m no pro, but I did my best. I used the saddle stitch method that was recommended in a video online.
- Assembly: Putting all the pieces together was like a puzzle. Getting the woven flap just right took some time, but I think I nailed it!
The trickiest part was probably that woven flap. It’s such a signature of the Spy bag, I wanted to get it right. Took a few tries, but I think I nailed it. And that little tag inside? I even made one that says “FENDI Made in Italy.” Just like the real deal, you know?
In the end, did I get a perfect copy? Maybe not. But it’s pretty darn close, and I made it myself! It’s got that special shine, that woven flap, and it feels just right. It’s not from the official store, but hey, it’s my Fendi Spy, and I’m proud of it.
It is my Fendi Spy and I am proud of it! It was my first time. I have learned a lot from it, and I will try to make a better one next time.
