Okay, so I gotta tell you about this whole “Original Order” Omega Speedmaster Super Racing thing I got into. You know how it is, you hear whispers about something, it sounds kinda cool, and next thing you know, you’re knee-deep in it. That’s what happened here. People keep saying “Original Order” this and that. Sounds important, right?
First off, I went online and did some digging. Found out a few things about these Speedmaster watches. Apparently, they’re a pretty big deal in the watch world. Some of them, especially the limited edition ones, are worth a good chunk of change. It seems like the prices of them can go way up. Some guy online said his went up 10% in the last year and a half! That’s nuts. I guess people think it is a good idea to get one of these before the end of 2023 since the prices are going up in 2024.
Then, I started asking around, you know, just casually bringing it up in conversation. “Hey, you ever heard of this Original Order Speedmaster?” Most folks just gave me a blank stare. But a couple of guys, they knew what was up. They started telling me about how these watches are made with the same parts as the real deal, just put together somewhere else. I mean, I wouldn’t know for sure, but that’s what they said. If that is true, that is a big deal.
Next, I found a guy, who knew a guy, who could get me one. Yeah, I know, sounds kinda shady, but hey, I was curious. We met up, did the whole exchange. He showed me the watch and I looked it over. It was heavy and shiny, just like the real thing. I mean, I wouldn’t know, but it looked good to me. I paid the guy, and walked away with the watch.

- Paid the man, heart was thumping a bit, not gonna lie.
- Got the watch home, started wearing it around.
Finally, I’ve been wearing this thing for a few weeks now. Feels good on the wrist. Looks sharp. I even got a couple of compliments on it. People ask me where I got it, and I just smile and say, “It’s a special edition.” I don’t think they know what I mean, but they nod and smile back. It is our little secret.
So, is it worth it?
Honestly, I don’t know. It’s a nice watch, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I enjoy wearing it and it is fun to see people’s reaction when I tell them what it is. Plus, it is kind of cool to have something that not everyone else has. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely an experience, and I learned a few things along the way. Plus, now I got a story to tell, right?
